Recognizing the challenges young people face, the BGCA five-year strategic plan focuses on three key outcomes for our youth: academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship.

BGCA’s efficient use of financial resources has won national recognition. In its 2015 Philanthropy 400 report, The Chronicle of Philanthropy ranked BGCA as #18 among all non-profit organizations and #1 among youth organizations for the 22nd consecutive year. The survey measured private support and reported gifts to both the national organization and local Boys & Girls Clubs.
Forbes, SmartMoney, Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report have all ranked BGCA among the top charitable organizations in America based on cost-effective use of donor dollars. WORTH magazine has ranked BGCA as one of America’s top one hundred charities, based on financial efficiency, strength of reputation, and program effectiveness.
Helping Kids in Southeastern Connecticut BE GREAT!
BGCSECT provides after-school programming for 100+ children in Southeastern Connecticut at Thames River Unit located in the public housing complex on Crystal Avenue in New London with plans to expand to additional sites in Groton and New London pending funding.
Successful events and fundraising help to enhance programming in our five Core Program Areas, increase Club membership at our current sites and open new sites in Southeastern Connecticut.
